My cookbook series is about tomatoes, potatoes and pumpkins, which are deeply rooted in the various cuisines of Europe, but did not originally come from Europe. They found their way to Europe through explorers and seafarers, where they are now deeply interwoven with culture, tradition and history. The cookbooks are about preparing as much as possible with one product and as few ingredients as possible - a “do it yourself” cookbook that combines cooking methods with a historical background. I take up this approach in the design and focus only on the product and its undiscovered angles and shapes. These serve as an abstract tool to show the nature, the typical regions and dishes of the product made from fragments of the fruit.
